back for good
well, i got home...monday night from the great mountains...the mountains i lust after! I just wanted to say that. Anyways, it was a great trip. We had awesome weather the whole time except for the last night it poured! We were in a tent for anyone who is wondering so it made for a damp night. We got lucky that we decided to camp in the woods abit away from the campground. When we woke up early the next morning we walked to the campground where we were supposed to camp and there was a stream running through it...right into the site beside us...and underneath their tent...we packed up and drove home. All in all we saw kananskis lakes, bow river and pocahontas (those were the places we camped anyways) it totalled alot of driving but we saw alot of cool stuff, it was great overall. May post some pictures later on...
gas
so how about those gas prices! When they jacked up to 111.9 i made it my goal to buy a new car by the end of this week. It's thursday tommorrow and I think I may be able to achieve my goal...are suzuki swifts girl cars? I don't even care. if I get 40 mpg in the city and only cost 30 bucks to fill or so...I won't complain...I can probably run faster than it can drive off the line but that is beside the point. Spend money to make money...ugh
Tragically Hip
Has anyone else thought of the song "New Orleans is sinking" in the past couple days???
So here is my theory on this whole thing that is going on. Just a theory, opinion...some people may not like this at all, might make them upset but I think it's insightful...for me anyways. Most people that read this probably know the story of sodom and gamorah (sp?). If you don't...the story is from the bible. The two cities are pretty bad places, lots of sin and turning away from God and everything, in the end God punish's the two cities by knocking them down...
Time warp to present day...
I am not a knowledgeble guy when it comes to "stuff" but I do know for a fact that Mardi Gras (one of the planets biggest parties from what I hear) is in New Orleans, I also know that the bright colors, clothes, mask's, etc, represent something...not exactly sure on what it is so I won't say for sure...If I recall it was something to do with representing other Gods and things but don't quote me on that cause I am not 100% sure. Anyways, I have just heard that New Orleans just isn't a real wholesome place to live...do you find it funny that 80% of the city is underwater? Do you find it funny that last year there was a hurricane that was coming straight at the city but veered at the last minute...do you think it's funny that this year the same thing happend...and at the last minute the hurricane veered...just not quite as much. My theory is that this whole thing is very biblical and in my own mind it's very evident that there is some sort of punishment on the city...The city is below sea level which means it is not going to drain soon. So many other problems will arise from this. Anyways, that is just my opinon...it was the first thought that popped into my head when I heard the story...
another little tidbit I find interesting...
Amsterdam, a place with alot going on...not so much of it good stuff...is also an entire city that is below sea level...just something that makes me think abit about location and how much control God truely has over this world. Is there such thing as coincidence that two of the more "sin filled" cities in the world are in valleys? To me it just makes God so evident and powerful, it opens my eyes so much. To others it might not mean anything and this may have been thoughtless and inconsiderate blabber. That is ok to...what's your thoughts on this? leave a comment if you got's any...
anywho...I am off to bed
blogging should pick up again now that the summer is over and I am around a little more.

Just being the devils advocate, it seems that it could all just be a coincedence. I dont think its totally unlikely for hurricanes to happen around New Orleans, and the fact that they are both in valleys is probably not a new thing. Im just a 'benefit of the doubt' kind of guy. But you could be right.

As christians yes i think that we are supposed to think the way you are about this situation, whether its "controversial" thinking or not. Is it just another coincedence that new orleans is the voo doo capital of north america. hhhmmmm Good blog thomas, i've been checking it out. Take care

well, thomas...i havn't looked at you blogs for a while now and it just so happens that yesturday in a new class that i have this year called "life trans" we were talking about New orleans and I went to bed that night thinking some of the same thoughts you were. i know i'm not very old and I can't put it in very good words what i was thinking but, i do know that i was thinking if it were coincidental or not that the floading did occuer. you make very good point thomas.....

That is an interesting thought. I'm curious to know what you think about the tsunami that happened at Christmas, or Sept. 11th and the WTC in New York, or WW2...... If God is "cleansing" the Sodom and Gomorrah's (I don't know how to spell it) of society then why are Ottawa and Washington D.C. untouched???
